Christopher Hitchens, a writer of unparalleled wit and acumen, and Peter Beinart, the editor-at-large of The New Republic, appeared today on "Hardball with Chris Matthews" to be shouted at by the host and allowed very abbreviated opportunities to answer questions. They weighed in on the prospect of Senator Hillary Clinton becoming the Secretary of State. Hitchens was against; Beinart was for.

I watched that interview and the frustration on Mr. Hitchens faces was about level to the frustration I felt watching. Hitchens would get about three words into a sentence before he was carpet bombed by Matthews or Beinart. I think my favorite exchange came at the end when Matthews asks Hitchens a question only to interrupt by saying something along the lines of "were out of time, I'd love to have you back on."
I'm sure Mr. Hitchens would love that and it would surely make for great television. "Yes Mr. Matthews, I would love to come back on ask you some more questions only to let someone else answer them.
Nice work, I almost threw up in mouth out of frustration watching that clusterf*%k of an interview yesterday.
